Your
Business IQ |
You've got to have a higher BIQ than
your competitors'. |
|
Your Business IQ is your measurement of
your current business acumen, your
entrepreneurial savvy, your commercial
competence. |
|
To overtake in business you first
measure your Business Intelligence Quotient --
your BIQ -- with this system. It's easy to do.
You then increase your BIQ by using this system.
From then on, you apply your increased expertise
to beat your competitors. |
|
Raise
your Business IQ: |
|
1 |
First measure your
current BIQ by rating your expertise in using the
25 Key Success Factors -- KSFs -- described in
this system. We give you five KSFs for each of
five modules. Enter your ratings in the
BusinessIQ file provided to you in Downloads.
This system instantly calculates your BIQ. |
|
2 |
100 is an average
result. If you have a two-figure BIQ raise it
right now or go out of business. If you have a
low three-figure BIQ you may have a future in
business. Especially if your competition is weak.
If you have a high three-figure BIQ you should do
well. |
|
3 |
Raise your BIQ by
improving your competence in exploiting each key
success factor but particularly these that are
heavily weighted i.e., are attributed high points
in this 1000-point system, and where your current
competence is low. Focus first on your
heavy-weight, low-rate KSFs. Improve there. You
should be able to raise your BIQ by as much as 25
points by persistently using this system. |
|
The
higher Business Intelligence Quotient wins: |
|
1 |
Now that you are
familiar with this system and have rated your own
competence you can and should assess your firm's
BIQ. |
|
2 |
Calculate your
competitor's BIQ. You are now able to identify
and measure your competitor's strengths and
weaknesses. Compare that result with your own.
The higher BIQ, plus motivation, will prevail.
Make sure it's yours. That's how to overtake in
business. |
|
3 |
Remember that
differences may not be spectacular. Just as a
horse may beat the competition by a nose so also
your business advantage in one of the many
intensely competitive industries may be small,
but vital. In such business environments your BIQ
gains become all the more important. We repeat.
The higher BIQ, plus motivation, will prevail.
Make sure it's yours. That's how to overtake in
business. |
|
4 |
Never confuse
professional, technological, business function or
academic intelligence with business IQ. Don't
assume -- verify. Many people who are very clever
-- even brilliant -- in their own specialist
spheres or functional departments do not have a
correspondingly high business intelligence
quotient. Instead their BIQ can be naively,
disastrously low. |
